All Or Nothing

Most mornings I wake up with a song resonating in my heart and mind. Usually I hum a couple of bars as I’m starting my morning routine, and at some point the song sort of fades from my mind’s ear.

But not today. I cannot shake this morning’s tune, which is from Hillsong United. So I just thought I’d share the song with you, in case you needed this too.

I especially am keying in on the chorus —

Today, today it’s all or nothing
All they way
The praise goes out to You
Yeah, all the praise goes out to You
Today, today I live for one thing
To give You praise
In everything I do
Yeah, all the praise goes out to You

All or nothing… in everything I do I want to bring praise to my God.

Thursdays With Oswald #17

This is a weekly series with things I’m reading and pondering from Oswald Chambers. You can read the original seed thought here, or type “Thursdays With Oswald” in the search box to read more entries.

Unbendingly Holy

Holiness means every part of the life under scrutiny of God, knowing that the grace of God is sufficient for every detail. The temptation comes along the line of compromise, “Don’t be so unbendingly holy; so fiercely pure and uprightly chaste.” Never tolerate by sympathy with yourself or with others any practice that is not in keeping with a holy God.

 From Approved Unto God

My prayer: Scrutinize me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my compromising thoughts. Point out ANYTHING in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. I want to be unbendingly holy in Your sight, O Holy God.
