League Of Extraordinary Christians

Good friends of ours, Jeff & Becky Kennedy, were at church this morning. Jeff brought us a challenging word entitled “The League Of Extraordinary Christians.”

I love the narrative in Acts 4:13: When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Peter and John were ordinary men who walked with Jesus.

By ourselves, we are ordinary; Jesus is the extra.

Extra Time With Jesus + Ordinary Me =
Extraordinary Christian

Ordinary people don’t change their worlds. Ordinary churches don’t attract hungry, hurting people.

But extraordinary people and extraordinary churches are world changers!

I desire for 2009 to be an extraordinary year. I desire that people take note that I have been with Jesus.

Are you ready to spend that extra time with Jesus? Are you ready to be extraordinary this year?

This, the only honest moment I have, I am ready. I pray I will stay ready. All of heaven is rooting and watching.

My favorite part of the service this morning was the altar time. How magnificant to see people at the altar asking for more of God, more of the Holy Spirit. Not for personal benefit, but to change the world.

Athough I was not there Sunday, my prayer is that the Lord will alwas use ordinary men and turn them into extraordinary men. All we have to to is be willing to be useable if we seek Him with all our hearts, mind, body, and spirit this will happen. God knows our heart and He will not push His way in, we need to keep asking or inviting Him in then the Holy Spirit will be able to make this an extraordinary 2009.
