Do you know why we all love a good story? Because good stories not only appeal to our minds, but they tug at our hearts too. Good stories speak to the left (logical) side of our brains, and the right (emotional) side as well. Good stories open the door for deeper understanding. Good stories blast through previously held beliefs. And good stories are memorable throughout our lifetime.
One of the greatest story-tellers in all of history was Jesus. He told stories that challenged people’s logical understanding, stirred up a whole array of emotions in His hearers’ hearts, and opened people’s minds to eternal truths.
Beginning this Sunday I’m going to be sharing some of the most intriguing stories Jesus told. With the help of our Rock children’s ministry (who will be doing some drama for us) these stories will come alive for all of us again. If you can, join us at Bethel A/G for some incredible stories and some truths about these stories that perhaps you haven’t considered before.
Whether you can attend or not, I’m curious to know what story told by Jesus may be your favorite. Please tell me in the comments.
